Terri Elizabeth Peterson

Terri Elizabeth Peterson (Lundin)
June 26, 1947 – April 17, 2025

Terri Elizabeth Lundin passed away peacefully at home in Spokane, WA, on Thursday, April 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 77 years old.

Terri was born June 26, 1947, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. She spent many of her childhood summers at the family cabin on Hayden Lake, where she made countless memories swimming, boating, and spending time with friends. She may not have loved her golf lessons, but she cherished those warm lake days and carried a deep affection for Hayden Lake throughout her life. Eventually, she retired there with her husband of 56 years, John Lundin.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1965 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Washington in 1969. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, John A. Lundin. They lived in Denver, Oregon, and California, before settling down in Spokane to raise their children, Eric and Erin.

Terri dedicated nearly 30 years to her career as a registered nurse, most of them delivering babies at Sacred Heart Medical Center-the very place she was born. She was also a passionate educator, teaching high-risk obstetrical nursing throughout the Inland Northwest.

Her greatest love, however, was Jesus. Terri met the Lord through Campus Crusade for Christ while attending the University of Washington, and her faith became the cornerstone of her life. She spent many years studying and teaching the Bible, and her relationship with Jesus was evident to everyone she met-reflected in her joyful smile, gentle spirit, and abundance of grace.

Terri was an avid reader, a gifted needlepoint artist, and a dedicated student of Scripture. She loved her family-especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She was a wicked competitor who loved to play cards with her family (and may have been known to properly cheat).

She is survived by her brother, Pete Peterson and his wife, Gayle; son, Eric John Lundin and wife, Christina; her daughter, Erin Elizabeth Rocha and husband, Abraham; along with her beloved grandchildren: Graham, Maile, Nakoa, Micah, and Kaleionalani Rocha, and Heidi, Thomas, and Lucy Lundin. She will be remembered always for her sweetness, warmth, fabulous sense of humor, and the light she brought into every room.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 9th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 10th, at 2:00 PM, at Summit Church NW, 1801 E. 29th Ave., Spokane, WA 99203, with a dessert reception to follow.

Terri's legacy of love, faith, and kindness lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
